Union Budget 2022 Highlights
The Union Budget is annual report of government which contains the data of revenue and expenditure made for the particular fiscal year, starts from 1 st April to 31 of March The Union Budget consists of all the records of the revenues collected from all sources and expenses of all activities are aggregated It also contains estimates for the next fiscal year.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to announce Union Budget 2022 on February 1 and will be Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman fourth Budget after 2019, 2020 and 2021 this will be preceded by a virtual meeting of the Rajya Sabha floor leaders, ahead of the budget session of the Parliament, will be held on 31st January 2022.
Before 2016, the Budget was presented on the last working day of February as India followed a colonial-era tradition of presenting the Union budget on the last working day.However now it's changed and budget is presented on the first day of February every year.
The presentation of a Union Budget speech runs normaly from 90 minutes to 120 minutes on an average.
As per data is concerened previous longest Union Budget Speech was delivered by Minister Jaswant Singh of 135 minutes. The shortest speech was delivered by Hirubhai M Patel of 800 words.
