NSDL stands for National Securities Depository Limited 

NSDL is the Largest Electronic Securities Depository in India, which holds the securities like Debentures, shares, bonds of investors in electronic format. Based on the suggestions  of National Institute for Economic Development NSDL was established in 1996 with  moto to resolve the issues  associated with the paper based trading and settlement of securities in electronic format. NSDL  helps investors to transfer the ownership of securities through simple account transfer without involving in paperwork.

NSDL support the investors as well as brokers using innovative and flexible technology systems which results in

increase the efficiency, less involvement of risk and helps to reducing costs.
